Individual Classes

If our Recording Arts Program isn't right for you, then you can take one class at a time. Each class is typically one-on-one and can be taken via screenshare from anywhere around the world. All individual classes you take can count as credit towards our FAFSA approved Recording Arts Program. Our online class experience is truly unique. All of the One-On-One attention you would experience here in person at our Austin campus you will experience with our screenshare classes. Basic Audio

Best Audio Engineering Classes
Basic audio is a one-on-one screen share class held one hour per week for 15 weeks taught by an industry professional. It introduces fundamentals of recording techniques and equipment used within a recording studio. Concepts such as defining what audio is, signal flow, patch bays, signal processors, microphones, consoles, EQ, compression and other studio basics are taught. This class assures your ability to function and communicate intelligently and confidently while in a studio environment.

Pro Tools

Best Pro Tools Classes
TRCoA’s Pro Tools class is a one-on-one screen share class held one hour per week for 15 weeks with our industry expert Audio Engineering instructors. This class emphasizes and prepares aspiring audio engineers for both in-studio and live concert venue recordings using the industry standard Pro Tools. Topics discussed are Pro Tools basics, hardware and equipment, signal flow, recording, editing, mixing, mastering, automation, plugins, console to DAW integration, and troubleshooting.

Beat Production

Best Beat Production Classes
Options for Hip Hop, Electronic-EDM, Pop, and Live DJ production are offered. TRCoA’s Beat Production class is a one-on-one screen share class held one hour per week for 15 weeks with our industry expert Music Production instructors. This class is designed to bridge the gap between basic audio engineering and beat production using Pro Tools and your choice of Ableton Live, Logic Pro, or FL Studio. The end goal being for you to fully produce your tracks from creating the beat or mash ups, to recording vocals, and mixing/mastering a final product for the world to hear. Topics discussed are Basic Audio Engineering, Fundamentals of Music Theory, Beat Programming & Arrangement, MIDI, Sampling, and Sound Design.

It is fundamentally a small business development course that is specifically designed with the music business entrepreneur in mind. We are going to step through the process of starting an entire small music business for each student. This class is designed to give aspiring live sound engineers the technical experience and exposure to equipment to operate like the pros. Topics discussed are stage setup, PA systems and monitors, analog outboard gear, standard live mixing consoles, Avid VENUE, acoustics, cabling, and power distribution.

Projects and Studio Experience

Projects and Studio Experience
Record, edit mix and master six projects. This class is the glue that ties all other classes together. In our profession it is essential that you be making real product for real artist. Here you will seek out artists you want to work with, book them in the studio or receive files to edit, mix, master or do production work. We will also place you in a local studio for studio experience (if you feel comfortable and there is studio availability).
